We respect your privacy rights and take our privacy obligations seriously. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (cth) ,and other privacy laws which governs the way in which organisations(such MediCentral) hold, use and disclose personal information(including your sensitive information).​

MediCentral collects information from you for the provision of integrated healthcare services to you. This includes collecting your personal information such as your name, your full medical history and any other information which is necessary to assist our health care team in providing healthcare service that you need.​

Obtaining test results

Your personal health information and medical records are confidential, and only accessible by authorised members of staff. To protect your confidentiality and to maintain the highest quality of patient care, please be advised that no results will be given out over the phone and we are encouraging all MediCentral patients to exercise your responsibility as a patient and return for review of any test results.​

Billing policy

MediCentral 501 George St is a mixed billing practice; however bulk billing services are available. We appreciate your full payment of fees on the end of consultation if your doctor charges a private fee. From 1/10/2022, MediCentral will charge a private fee to all new* patients.

Bulk billing doctors

All patients must produce a current Medicare card at the time of consultation and if you are on a Health Care Card, pension or Veterans’ Affairs card, you should also produce a current one of those. If you don’t produce a current Medicare card, we cannot provide bulk billing services. If your card is not available (missing or stolen), a consultation fee (equal to the Medicare rebate) can be paid at the time of consultation and claimed from Medicare later.

Private billing doctors

MediCentral 501 George St predominately provide bulk billing consultations. However, Dr Judy Huang, Dr Frank Zhu, Dr Yan Dan Goh, Dr Hilton Lowe, Dr Hongxia Zhang and Dr Alice Kim  charge a private fee. Fee structure is available at the front desk. Alternatively, you can contact us on 02 8378 6666 to ask our receptionist.

If you are seeing any of the doctors mentioned above, you are required to make a full payment for your consultation fee after finishing consultation. Once you have paid your account, we can submit your claim to Medicare electronically. The rebate should be claimed by direct deposit into your nominated bank account in 1~2 business days. The gap fee payable is variable, depending on the consultation length, complexity and treatments given. The basic consultation is $90.00.

Payment is expected at the end of each consultation. If payment cannot be made at the time of consultation, your account will incur an administration fee of $15.oo which is not Medicare rebatable.
We accept cash payments and have EFTPOS facilities (American Express not accepted).
We accept WeChat pay, Ali pay and Union pay.
Please discuss your billings with your treating doctor during the consultation not with reception staff.
We do not bulk bill for pap smear and minor procedures.

Workers Compensation

Workers Compensation services will be charged directly to the patient who can then claim this back from their Workers Compensation insurer.
Workers Compensation services will only be billed directly to the Workers Compensation Insurer where a claim has been accepted and confirmed by the insurer and only at the discretion of Meadows Medical Centre

Additional charges

GPs and clinical staff will advise patients of additional costs before treatments or procedures. Where costs are unknown, you are encouraged to make enquires. Additional costs may include:
• Insurance papers
• Home/other visits
• Minor procedures
• Vaccines (non-government funded)
• Dressings
